Weight Loss and Diets: The 10 Healthiest Snacks You Can Eat
Weight Loss and Diets: The 10 Healthiest Snacks You Can Eat
Snacking during the day is a common habit for those who are attempting to lose weight, so cutting off all food isn't the best solution. Throughout the day, I enjoy snacking. That may explain, in part, why I'm making an effort to cut back on calories.
I decided to create a list of the top snacks to consume when dieting, so I did some research and am sharing it with you now. My findings are as follows:
First snack: tinned fish, such as salmon or tuna. A high-protein snack with few calories, it comes in a can. You can eat it straight from the can or add some flavor with low-fat mayo or salad dressing.
Two cottage cheeses for snacks. Cottage cheese is a favorite among dieters for breakfast, but it's versatile enough to be eaten as a snack at any time.
Nut butter is snack number three. If you're looking for a nutritious snack that will keep you full for hours, try peanut butter. Many people on a diet discover that a little peanut butter on their preferred light bread makes for a filling snack.
Snack number four: simple, fat-free yogurt. Yogurt is delicious on its own, but it may also stand in for mayonnaise in recipes that call for too much of the dressing. This is particularly true of salads. Try dressing your next salad with yogurt and see what a difference it makes.
Power bars are snack number five. If you're watching your calorie and fat intake but still have a sweet appetite, an energy bar is a fantastic compromise. This is the one time of year when many dieters can eat chocolate without feeling bad.
Snack number six: celery. Celery, indeed! Snacking on celery adds more calories than the vegetable itself does to anyone's diet. That's awesome, right? As a guilt-free snack, I love dipping celery into peanut butter or even low-fat dressing.
Snack number seven: carrots. The little carrots in particular! In addition to being a fantastic source of fiber, carrots have extremely few calories. For a healthy snack, I love to dip them in ranch dressing that is low in fat.
Eighth snack: dried fruit. As a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack, I often reach for a bag of dried fruit. You can never get bored snacking from a variety bag!
Nineth Snack: Fat-Free Cool Whip. This food is delicious! If you're looking for an alternative to ice cream but still want your fix, it's a fantastic choice! Due to the low calorie content of both fruit and fat-free Cool Whip, I particularly enjoy combining the two. This is a go-to for me when I'm craving something sweet!
Finally, though...
Suggestion #10: Fruit, whether fresh or in a can! Dried pineapple chunks in a can are a delicious fruit snack. After a few hours or a night in the fridge, I enjoy opening the can and snacking straight from it. Use a fruit medley or any canned fruit of your choice for this.
And that is all, everyone! Here are some delicious and filling snack options that will aid with weight loss. Just grab a basket, go to the grocery store, and bring everything home to savor!
